WAHI Pandhi is a small city in Dadu district with a population of more than 50,000. It is rich in terms of agricultural produce as there are more than 100 tube wells in the vicinity. Unfortunately, its residents face many an issue.

The tube well owners have to pay heavy electricity bills and receive no subsidy as is the practice in the rest of Sindh and Punjab.

There is only one male doctor in the city’s basic health unit and women have to travel to other cities for treatment. There is usually a shortage of medicines in the hospice.

There are no facilities for girls’ education beyond the primary level as there are no separate secondary schools or colleges for girls. Boys are also forced to go to other areas for college education while work has remained suspended on the college building for the last five years.

Wahi Pandhi is also the base camp for Gorakh hill station but the road leading to this tourist spot is in very poor condition.

The concerned authorities are requested to look into the residents grievances.
