CHARSADDA: A man and his wife were killed over a property dispute during a jirga in Sherpao area here on Monday.

Haris of Sherpao village reported to the police that his sister, Ms Khalida, and her husband, Fazal Aziz, belonging to Hero Shah area of Malakand protected area, who were presently residing in Sherpao along with him, were attending a jirga convened to resolve a property dispute with accused Malak Sardar, Fazal Hameed and Sherin Zada.

However, the two groups exchanged harsh words during the course of the jirga, prompting the three accused persons to open fire on the woman and her husband, killing them on the spot, said the complainant, adding the accused escaped the area.

The Umarzai police registered FIR and started investigation.

Meanwhile, a man named Hamad of Bagh Korona area was shot dead by accused, Naeem and Mohammad Hayat, over a woman dispute in limits of Sar Dheri police station.

Asif Jan, brother of the deceased, reported to police that two accused persons opened fire on his bother and killed him on the spot.

The police registered FIR and started investigation.
