KARACHI: Brilliant Nouman Aftab cruised into the final of U-18 event of the third McDonald’s Nati­onal Junior Tennis Champ­ionship at the DA Creek Club here on Monday.

Nouman faced little resistance from his semi-final opponent Amin Shafi and recorded a convincing 6-1, 6-4 victory.

In U-14 singles semi-finals, Hasheesh Kumar defeated Moham­mad Yahya 6-3, 6-3 while Rayyan Jawad beat Mahatir Mohammad 6-3, 6-2.

In U-12 singles semi-finals, Ashar Mir overpowered Nadir R Mirza 8-2.

In a 35-plus singles quarter-final match, Vinod Das blanked Faraz Halim 8-0.

In the girls U-18 singles second round, Hania Naviad outclassed Dominique Rodrigues 6-0, 6-0.
