GWADAR: A security man was martyred and five other people were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Coastal Highway near Pasni town in Gwadar district late on Saturday evening.

Personnel of the Frontier Corps were guarding the Wapda staff working on a transmission line near the Badok area when they came under fire.

Naib Subedar Muhammad Farman was martyred while another soldier along with four civilians received injuries.

The gunfight continued for some time before the attackers escaped.

The injured were taken to Rural Health Centre Pasni.

The condition of the injured soldier, Sadam Hussain, was said to be serious. The other injured were Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Kashif, Hussain and Shamshad, all belonging to Punjab.
