KARACHI: An 11-year-old boy and a two-and-a-half-year-old girl drowned in storm-water drains in separate incidents in the city.
According to Samnabad police, Mohammad Rehan fell in a nullah while he was playing along with his friends in Sector 16-A of Buffer Zone on Wednesday evening. Rescue workers tried to retrieve his body on Wednesday but had to abandon their efforts due to darkness.
On Thursday morning, Pakistan Navy divers recovered the body.
The girl drowned in a drain in Haroonabad area of Pak Colony on Wednesday evening.
Her body could not be recovered till Thursday evening.
