KARACHI: An 11-year-old boy and a two-and-a-half-year-old girl drowned in storm-water drains in separate incidents in the city.

According to Samnabad police, Mohammad Rehan fell in a nullah while he was playing along with his friends in Sector 16-A of Buffer Zone on Wednesday evening. Rescue workers tried to retrieve his body on Wednes­day but had to abandon their efforts due to darkness.

On Thursday morning, Pakistan Navy divers recovered the body.

The girl drowned in a drain in Haroonabad area of Pak Colony on Wednesday evening.

Her body could not be recovered till Thursday evening.
