Hamza takes Artema to Winter Polo final

LAHORE: Artema Medical/Black Horse Paints defeated Porsche 7-5 in a thrilling match to qualify for the main final while Newage carved out victory against Diamond Paints to enter the subsidiary final in the Winter Polo Cup here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Thursday.

After a tough fight, a two-goal handicap advantage helped Artema to oust Porsche as both scored five each during the four-chukker proceedings.

In-form Hamza Mawaz Khan having lion’s share slammed in four goals for the winners, while Bilal Riaz added one goal. For Porsche, Saqib Khan Khakwani banged in all the five goals.

Newage outplayed Diamond Paints 7- 5 1/2 as Adnan Jalil Azam scored four, while Shah Shamyl Alam and Abdul Rehman Monnoo contributed two each. Mir Huzaifa (3) and Naved Sheikh (2) reduced the losing margin for Diamond Paints.

On Friday, the second finalist will be decided between Dawood Group and Honda Chenab. The winner will qualify for the final, while the losers will play the subsidiary final on Sunday.
