ISLAMABAD, Aug 28: Major political parties are yet to submit their consolidated account statements to the Election Commission (EC) of Pakistan.

August 29 is the last date for submitting party accounts.

Some smaller parties have submitted their account statements to the Election Commission while a number of major parties have not yet submitted their consolidated and audited accounts.

The Election Commission has reminded the remaining political parties whose documents were entertained by the commission under the Political Parties Order, 2002, to submit their accounts by 1200 hours on Friday (August 29) as they are required to do so according to Article 13 of the Political Parties Order, 2002.

It was announced on August 8, 2003 that political parties should submit their accounts by August 29 in Form-I that was available free of cost at the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and at offices of the provincial election commissioners, Punjab, Sindh, North-West Frontier Province and Balochistan.—APP
