LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore, sought on Friday details of assets belonging to PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, his cousin Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and their spouses and children from different departments.

The Chaudhry brothers faced a NAB reference for possessing assets beyond known sources of income in 2000 but the inquiry was not completed since they joined hands with former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.

The corruption case against the Chaudhrys of Gujrat is among the 179 mega corruption scandals, a list of which was compiled by NAB and submitted to the Supreme Court in July 2015.

Shujat and Pervaiz recorded their statements before the NAB on Nov 6.

A NAB official on condition of anonymity said they had written letters to various officials, departments and banks to seek details of accounts and properties of Chaudhry brothers in Lahore, Sheikhupura and Gujrat.
