LAHORE: PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Husain said on Wednesday the government had indulged in hypocrisy and was yet to implement the Islamabad High Court verdict in the Khatm-i-Nubuwat case.

He was talking to Majlis-i-Wahdatul Musalmeen (MWM) Pakistan chief Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri, who along with a delegation called on him at his residence here.

Shujaat said the rulers tried their best to please their foreign masters by changing laws on Khatm-i-Nubuwat but it failed. He said efforts were being made to put the matter on the back burner by constituting committees “but we would not let these tactics succeed”.

“We fully support the sit-in of Khadim Hussain Rizvi as it is religious duty of all the Muslims to protect Namoos-e-Risalat.” He said the government had also failed to recover MWM deputy secretary general Nasir Sheerazi.

Former federal minister Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain termed the demands of Tehrik Labaik Ya Rasool Allah genuine. The rulers should talk to the protesters and accept their demands to end the Islamabad sit-in.

He said if the government used force to disperse “peaceful demonstrators”, the PML-Q would strongly protest such an act.
