RAWALPINDI: A police team will proceed to the United Arab Emirates to bring back eight Pakistani nationals arrested by Interpol in Abu Dhabi after their red notices were issued in Pakistan.
The eight people are wanted in connection with different cases registered against them with the police in Pakistan.
However, none of them is involved in terrorism cases, a security source said.
The nine-member police team will leave for Abu Dhabi next week to escort the Pakistanis back home.
The source said the UAE authorities had asked Pakistan to send security officials as they had been waiting for the extradition of the eight people.
The source said the red notices had been issued against Mohammad Afzal, who was wanted by the Vehari police, Mohammad Irfan and Rana Faheem Saleem wanted by the Lahore police, Tahir Mahboob wanted by Sargodha police, Imtiaz Ahmed Khan wanted by Mianwali police, Himatullah Khan wanted by Hangu police and Mohammad Ajmal and Ehsan Arif.
