TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 24: A retired patwari was killed while eight others sustained critical injuries on Sunday when a bus and a tractor-trolley collided head-on near Chak 323-JB Trandi, some five kilometres from here on Toba-Faisalabad road.

The speeding bus (9927-LPT), going to Faisalabad from Multan, crashed into the tractor-trolley (8337-SAC) when its driver tried to overtake another vehicle. As a result, Abdul Rahim of Chak 138-NR died on the spot while eight other bus passengers suffered serious injuries. They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.
