KOHAT: Several prominent political workers and members of local government in KP-39 constituency announced to quit PTI and join JUI-F along with their whole tribes at a public meeting here on Tuesday.

The public meeting was held at Jarma Square on Indus Highway. The function was attended by JUI-F provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Senator Hafizullah, Ghulam Habib, Maulana Abdul Hayee and Haji Jameel Paracha.

On the occasion, PTI leader and chairman of Jarma 2 Shah Hussain, deputy chairman Mohammad Iqbal and councillors Mohammad Ameen and Wadood Afridi and Haji Taj Mohammad announced to join JUI-F along with their supporters.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafizullah said that students of seminaries were not involved in terrorism, lawlessness and weakening the geographical and ideological boundaries of the country. Those, who were studying in the westernised environment, were responsible for it, he added.

He said that under a conspiracy western culture was being taught to the students. He said that future of Fata would be decided according to the wishes of tribal people because they had centuries-old norms, traditions and culture.

Taj Mohammad said that PTI made false promises and raised hollow slogans of new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the local MPA and law minister had told the people during elections that he had sold the jewellery of his wife for contesting the polls. “But now his brothers, uncles and he himself own vehicles worth millions of rupees and have huge business abroad,” he added.

Mr Taj said what term should be used for it if it was not corruption. He accused the PTI MPs of nepotism and massive corruption in the development projects. He said that they made money during the last four years. He claimed that people would vote for JUI-F in the next general elections.
