SUKKUR: Two members of a team of doctors, paramedics and other staffers of the Sukkur Civil Hospital that was booked on Oct 21 in a case of negligence leading to death of a patient were granted bail by the Sukkur district and sessions court on Tuesday.

Anaesthetist Dr Prumb and OT technician Ghulam Sarwar Soomro were granted bail in a sum of Rs100,000 each. They were represented in court by lawyer Shahid Memon. The other members of the team, booked at the C-Section police station of the Old Sukkur area on an order passed by the fifth additional judge of the court, intended to seek their bail on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, doctors, paramedics and other employees of government hospitals in Sukkur on Tuesday continued their two-hour strike against registration of the case.

The court has fixed the case for hearing on Oct 28.
