HYDERABAD, Aug 24: The anthology of Prof Sehar Imdad, titled “Chaudheen Chand Aakash” (Full moon, sky), was launched at the Institute of Sindhology, University of Sindh, Jamshoro on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned short story writer and playwright Noorul Huda Shah said Mrs Imdad had her own poetic diction.

Dr Fahmeeda Hussain Memon said the poetess had the courage to espouse the cause of women.

Noted poetess and publisher of the book, Fahmeeda Riaz, said Mrs Imdad had not only highlighted problems of rural women but also promoted the cause of Sindhi language and culture.

SU vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui praised the work of Mrs Imdad and said being a poetess, she could advocate the cause of women in a better way.

Mrs Imdad read out a few verses from her book and thanked the participants.

Others who expressed their views included renowned poet and husband of the author, Imdad Hussaini, Shaukat Hussain Shoro, Atiya Dawood, Dr Noor Afroze Khawaja, Naseer Mirza, Amar Sindhu and Mariam Majeedi.

The Sindh department of culture and tourism organized the function in collaboration with the Institute of Sindhology.

SEMINAR: Speakers here at a seminar on Friday eulogized the educationists of Sindh as the harbingers of new era and development.

The event, titled as “Noor Mohammad Memorial Seminar on Prominent Educationists of Sindh”, was organized by the Dr Khan Mohammad Panhwar Trust in collaboration with the Dialdas club.

The function marked the death anniversary of Noor Mohammad High School’s founder.
