MANSEHRA: The Army Burn Hall School and College, Abbottabad, clinched the overall top position in the 30th All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Competitions held at the Pakistan Scout Cadet College, Batrasi, here on Thursday.

“Such healthy competitions among educational institutions from across the country are highly important for national integration and brotherhood,” cadet college principal retired brigadier Abdul Hafiz Batrasi told the inaugural session of the declamation competitions held in English and Urdu on topics of justice, education, national integration and ‘out of ashes will we rise again’.

The college’s students didn’t take part in the competitions for being host.

Overall, the Army Burn Hall School and College stood first and Military College Murree and Cadet College Sanghar second.

In English declamation competition, Military College Murree stood first, while the second position was clinched by the students of Army Burn Hall School and College Abbottabad.

In Urdu declamation competition, Army Burn Hall School and College clinched the top position and Cadet College Kila Saifullah and Government College University Lahore second. Principal Hafiz said it was high time for youths to be practical.

“Our country has been facing enormous challenges and therefore, you should be practical to defend its ideology and boarders with a strong resolve,” he said.

Additional deputy commissioner Yasir Ali Khan gave away shields and certificates to position holders at the concluding ceremony.

KILLED: A youngster was killed in a road accident in Paris area of Balakot on Thursday.

Mohammad Murtaza, 18, was run over and killed by a speeding pickup van when he was on the way to Balakot from Paris on his motorcycle.

The police registered a case against the fleeing driver and began search for him. However, the driver wasn’t arrested by night.
