RAWALPINDI: Following a Lahore High Court order, the medical and dental college admission test will be conducted on Oct 29.

The test was held on Aug 19 by the University of Health Sciences but was cancelled by the court after the question paper was leaked on social media. Students had gone to the Lahore High Court and asked that the test be conducted again.

The divisional administration and local police were asked to make fool proof arrangements for the entry test. The commissioner was asked to provide the arrangements in the four districts of the Rawalpindi division.

Acting Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal called a meeting for reviewing the arrangements made for the entry test on Oct 29.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Attock Rana Akbar Hayat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tariq Salam, Director Colleges Malik Asghar, UHS representative Jaffar Mufti Iqbal, Sub-registrar Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, RMC Chief Municipal Officer Khalid Goraya and other concerned officials.

The acting commissioner directed for necessary steps to be taken in order to ensure merit, secrecy and transparency in the exams. He also ordered for arrangements to be made for providing security to students.

Mr Gondal said emergency healthcare services will be ensured at all centres and that walk through gates and CCTV cameras will be installed as well. Women police officials will be deputed for checking female students. Both candidates and invigilators are barred from bringing their mobile phones into the test centres.

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company was directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during the test and the city traffic officer has been directed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic around the vicinity.

Mr Gondal said the district administration of four districts of the Rawalpindi Division will also impose section 144 around the area of the examination centres.
