PARACHINAR: Four suspected militants were killed when a US drone fired missiles at a compound in Afghanistan on Thursday, sources said.

They said the attack was carried out in Jawar Ser area of Afghanistan’s Paktia province close to Ghuzgarhi area of Kurram Agency.

Local people said two missiles were fired at the compound at around 4.30pm.

US drones have carried out four attacks on militant hideouts along the Pak-Afghan border in recent days. Over 30 suspected militants have been killed in these attacks.

Residents said that drones were continuously hovering over areas along the border. The CIA-operated unmanned aircraft have increased attacks in the region following the recovery of an American-Canadian couple and their three children in a military operation on Oct 11.
