All rounder Muhammad Hafeez's bowling action has been reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC) by match officials, the ICC said in a statement on Thursday.

He has been reported for using a suspect bowling action during the third ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka played in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Pakistan had won the game thanks to Hassan Ali's five-for and sealed the series with two matches still to go.

Hafeez, who has been suspended twice — in December 2014 and July 2015 — will be allowed to bowl for 14 days till an independent assessment of his action is carried out. He had resumed bowling in international matches after his one-year suspension was lifted in November 2016.
