Byco’s terminal achieves a milestone

KARACHI: Byco Petroleum’s floating terminal has imported five million tonnes of crude oil since its inception, a press release said on Tuesday.

The company’s single-point mooring is Pakistan’s only floating terminal, which handles crude oil and refined petroleum products.

It has been set up in deep sea and is connected to a storage tank via 15 kilometres of both on-shore and sub-sea pipelines, it added.

Goldman to repurchase $8.7bn worth of stock

NEW YORK: Goldman Sachs Group Inc expects to spend $8.7 billion repurchasing shares from investors, Chief Financial Officer R. Martin Chavez said on Tuesday in the bank’s first-ever disclosure of a buyback target.

Chavez disclosed the figure on a conference call to discuss third-quarter results with analysts. He did not provide a timeframe for the repurchases.
