Buksh inspires Pakistan Railways

KARACHI, Aug 22: Pakistan Army (Red), Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and Pakistan Railways booked their places in the semifinals of All Pakistan Inter-departmental basketball tournament on Friday at KPT Sports Complex.

PAF were too strong for hapless University Grant Commission (UGC) 96-27 with Nadeem (26), Gulam Hussain (22) and Jamal (18) scoring the bulk of points.

Favourites Pakistan Army (Red) outclassed Pakistan Police 103-41. Khalid (25), Mir Alim (16) and Tanveer (12) were the main scorers for fpr Pakistan Army (Red).

Pakistan Railways scored two wins. First they edged out Pakistan Navy 68-61 and later blasted KESC 81-50. Pakistan Railways’ Allah Buksh emerged as the day’s top scorer as he scored 32 points against KESC.

HBL booked their spot in the semis beating WAPDA by 87-71. HBL Falak Sher inspired the bankers with his shooting with 28 points to his credit.

The semifinals will played Saturday (today) at the same venue while the finals will be played onb Augt 24 at 5.00 pm.—PPI
