MULTAN: Avari Hotels Ltd Chairman Byram D. Avari said on Tuesday his business group is establishing two four-star hotels of 88 rooms in the city.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of a 24-bed hotel, Mr Avari said the construction of another hotel of the international standard is also under way in Multan.

Both projects are joint ventures of Avari Hotels Ltd and Multan-based Roomi Enterprises Ltd.

He said Chinese investment will strengthen the economy. “China is investing $46 billion for its own economic survival, which will ultimately benefit Pakistan. This investment will not let Pakistan disintegrate,” he said.

Mr Avari said that about 22,000 Pakistani students are learning the Chinese language in China. The Chinese language is also being taught at educational institutions across Pakistan as well, he said.

He said China is not going to be another East India Company for the nation. The Gwadar Port will help boost the trade volume with China and Central Asian states, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of Roomi Enterprises Ltd said economic activities in southern Punjab, particularly Multan, will increase with the establishment of hotels of the international standard.
