CHITRAL: Well before his arrival and assuming charge of office, the newly posted deputy commissioner Irshad Sodhar suspended the deputy medical superintendent of DHQ hospital on Sunday for dumping the hospital’s solid waste into Chitral River and using ambulance meant for transporting patients.

On the direction of Chitral DC, the MS of the hospital issued suspension order of DMS Dr Israruddin, in charge of sanitation Hujoom Khan and supervisor Murad Khan for their negligence in disposing of solid waste in the river instead of the place fixed for it.

The video showing disposal of waste using hospital’s ambulance went viral on social media, prompting the DC to take strong notice of it.

An inquiry has also been ordered against the officials. Mr Sodhar has recently been posted to Chitral from Peshawar, but he has yet to arrive here to assume charge.
