Austria's ban on full-face covering comes into force

A law that forbids any kind of full-face covering, including Islamic veils such as the niqab or burqa, has come into force in Austria.
Starting Sunday, wearing a ski mask off the slopes, a surgical mask outside hospitals and party masks in public is prohibited.
The law, popularly known as the “Burqa Ban,” is mostly seen as a directed at the dress worn by some ultra-conservative Muslim women.
Violations carry a possible fine of 150 euros (nearly 180USD). Police are authorised to use force if people resist showing their faces.
Only a small number of Muslim women in Austria wear full-face veils, but they have become a target for right-wing groups and political parties.
France and Belgium have similar laws. The nationalist Alternative for Germany party is calling for one there too.

@adnan Islam Does not ask you to Look like a ninja, Wear Lose cloths that Does not allow your Curves to be Visible. There is a difference between Arab Culture and Islam. OUr Ladies in Rural Punjab wear Dopata not Ninja Like Dresses. That's Called Parda As well.
Plus this is their Land So their Rules. Wear Scarf Isnt that Enough Or Just Sit at Home then. wearing Burqa and Wandering on Beach What is that?

I am a Pakistani Muslim and I fully support Austrian decision. We Muslims should not think of imposing or expect anything that is against the laws or cultural sensitivity of a nonmuslim nation.
We must learn to respect their decision.

No one can stop them covering their face with the industrial mask used by people working in dusty atmosphere. Many people put on such mask while out of their houses or going to or coming back from work due to pollution in the streets. Many use it while travelling in below ground trains as pollution due to dust is very likely in such confined atmosphere..

This is just the tip of the iceberg pertaining to the basic human rights like freedom of choice, freedom of expression, freedom of thought, freedom of conviction and freedom of religion in general and the "real face" of Austria and the Austrian sham democracy in particular. No wonder Adolf Hitler was born and raised in Austria.

I think let people wear what they want. Somebody does not want to wear burqa, it is ok; similarly, if somebody wants to wear it, that is also ok. Said that, it is no denying that burqua has become synonym to oppression and ultra-religious thinking in western countries. Recent decision in Austria depicts that, and if we want to live there, need to follow the rule.
