The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining 73 points as volumes remained low.

The index touched the day's high of 42,457 and a low of 42,195 to close at 42,363 with 60 million shares traded on the exchange.

Nearly 140m shares worth Rs6 billion were traded on the exchange. The textile spinning sector dominated trading with 27.7m shares traded while commercial banks and technology sectors followed with 23.9m and 17.9m shares traded respectively.

A total of 357 symbols were traded, of which 215 advanced, 121 declined and 21 remained unchanged.

B.O.Punjab: 12.3m shares traded [+3.90pc]

Kohinoor Spinning: 10.4m shares traded [+3.11pc]

TRG Pak Ltd: 7.4m shares traded [+0.16pc]

Silk Bank Ltd: 5.7m shares traded [+3.80pc]

Chakwal Spinning: 4.5m shares traded [+9.16pc]
