MARDAN: Provincial senior minister for health Shahram Khan Tarakai and minister for education Mohammad Atif Khan on Saturday inaugurated newly-constructed building of pharmacy, upgraded buildings of medical-B ward and accident and emergency centre in Mardan Medical Complex here.

Talking to mediapersons after inauguration, Mr Tarakai said they had focused on providing best health facilities to residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as per the vision of party chief Imran Khan.

He claimed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government had been taking steps to upgrade all the big and small hospitals of the provinces on modern lines.

He said the people could observe a clear and positive change in hospitals of the province owing to the steps taken by the government.

He said the newly-constructed pharmacy at the hospital would provide medicines to patients at 10 per cent discount.

Besides, the upgraded buildings of medical-B ward and accident and emergency centre would greatly facilitate the patients. He said people of Mardan district and other adjacent areas would take benefit from these facilities.

The health minister revealed that the provincial government had approved a package of Rs820 million for Mardan Medical Complex, of which, projects worth Rs200 million were underway in the first phase. Mr Tarakai stressed on the board of directors of the medical complex to leave no stone unturned in providing best healthcare to patients.

Minister Atif Khan also talked to journalists, saying these new buildings at the hospital would greatly benefit patients.

He hoped that provision of modern machinery to hospitals would bring positive change in the behaviour of doctors and other staff of hospitals while providing treatment to patients.

He said they would monitor performance of doctors and paramedical staff and would make accountable those officials who failed to perform their duties.
