KOHAT: The Shakardarra police found the body of a kidnapped boy in a pond at Naray area on Thursday. The boy had gone missing a fortnight ago.

Shakardarra DSP Rokhan Zeb told mediapersons that Mohammad Hussaib, 8, had been kidnapped on Sept 3 according to the report of his father Gul Janan.

A special team headed by SHO Afzal Awan was formed on the appeal of the victim’s mother. It arrested two relatives Badshah Din and Mujeebur Rehman on suspicion.

The DSP said that the two told the police that they had kidnapped the child and killed him by drowning him in a pool. They also nominated two other accomplices identified as Mohammad Ameen and Suleman and that they had killed the boy due to enmity with the family.

A local court remanded Badshah and Mujeeb in the police custody and declared Ameen and Suleman as absconders.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed and her daughter injured while resisting attempt of kidnapping in Tora Stana area in the limits of Gumbat police station.

The police said that one Sardar Ali entered the house of Mst Wali Marjana on Wednesday night and asked her daughter (17) to come with him as he wanted to marry her on which a brawl took place among the three.

Getting angry by the response he fired and killed Marjana while the girl was injured. After that he attempted to commit suicide, but was seriously injured.

They were brought to a hospital in Kohat where the police wrote the report on the complaint of wounded girl. The police registered the case against the suspect who was in police custody in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the police instructors trained volunteers of various committees of Hangu and Kohat for performing peacekeeping duties at the mourners meetings and processions at a one-day workshop on Thursday.
