KARACHI: Keeping in view the enhanced demand for drinking water during Muharram, the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has made arrangements to supply between 40,000 and 50,000 gallons of water daily to different Imambargahs, said a statement issued by the KWSB here on Thursday.

It said that free tankers were being provided when Imambargahs’ managements approached the water board directly or through the district administration or law enforcement agencies. It said that free tankers were being provided to various Imambargahs, including Imambargah Jaffar-i-Tayyar Society, Mehfil-i-Shah-i-Khorasan, and others places where availability of water through pipelines was not possible.

It said that tankers would also be stationed along the route of the main procession and near the places where majalis were held, particularly on the 8th, 9th and 10th of Muharram so that people did not face any water shortage.
