ABBOTTABAD: The district administration on Tuesday imposed section 144, banning entry of 22 ulema into the Abbottabad city until the end of Muharram.

A notification issued here also said movement of Afghans had also been restricted from sunset till sunrise, besides banning distribution of any hate material. There will also be a ban on pillion-riding from Sept 28 to Oct 8, and no one will be allowed to stay in the hotels and inns along the routes of the mourning processions. The violators will be dealt with under section 185.

Prominent among the ulema whose entry was banned are Maulana Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid Islamabad, naib khateeb of the mosque Maulana Rabnawaz Tahir, Maulana M Ahmed Ludhianvi of Jhang, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas of Rawalpindi and Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi from Karachi.
