BATKHELA: Mutilated body of the driver of former ANP lawmaker Mohammad Shoab Khan was recovered from the latter’s double-cabin vehicle in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to Malakand Levies, they got information on the night between Monday and Tuesday that a vehicle had caught fire and local residents were busy in extinguishing the fire near Sabar Shah Mosque, Batkhela.

The Levies personnel rushed to the site where they saw that the residents had controlled the fire on self-help basis. Levies personnel said when they opened doors of the vehicle they found mutilated body of the driver on the seat next to the driver’s.

They said the deceased was identified as Jamil Khan, personal driver of former MPA Mohammad Shoab. Later, father and brothers of the deceased identified his body.

According to sources sample from the body was taken to Khyber Medical Complex Peshawar for DNA test. According to Levies officials, it was a mysterious death as the body was not on the driver’s seat when doors of the vehicle were opened.

They said the vehicle had not caught fire rather it was set on fire after sprinkling petrol on it, adding wiring of the vehicle was also secure.
