BAHAWALNAGAR: A 17-year-old girl was axed to death by her father and uncles in village Kikriyan Jhandejka on Tuesday after they allegedly found her with a man. The man was also injured critically.

According to Takhat Mahal police, the victims were identified as Salma, daughter of Allah Rakha, and Fiaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Muhammad. Besides Allah Rakha, the other suspects were identified as his brothers Hasnain, Sanaullah, Yaseen and Mansha. The police said the suspects had found Salma in a ‘compromising position’ with Fiaz who was also critically injured. The suspects fled the scene after the incident. Fiaz was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Bahawalnagar.

A first information report (FIR) was registered against the suspects on behalf of the state. Salma’s body was handed over to a notable of the area for burial after a post-mortem examination.

MINOR DIES: A minor girl died while her sister fell sick after consuming toxic milk at Madni Chowk of Minchinabad.

Rescue sources said two daughters of Azam Noor advocate fell ill after consuming milk. According to Noor, the condition of his daughters, Asma Noor, 8, and Maneeha Noor, 4, worsened after consuming the milk. They were shifted to a private hospital where Maneeha died while condition of Asma was stated to be stable.
