National integration

Published September 12, 2017

THE process of national integration in Pakistan has been doomed since the country’s inception. Historically, Pakistan has been a shelter home of military rulers, political autocrats and seasonal dynasties. The civil-military trust deficit , regional disputes, religious disparities and linguistic diversities have kept integration in check.

Moreover, debacle of former East Pakistan , Baloch nationalist movements and Mohajir card have further deteriorated the unity of the nation. The solution to national integration lies in vibrant political setup , independent, media socio-economic justice, equal distribution of resources and primarily quality education.

The sad state of affairs is prevalent with a wretched and hopeless educational system which is left at the mercy of private institutions and foreign aid. The key to prosperity and integration lies in uniform educational system which can impart even invariable knowledge. A robust educational system can help build a national consensus and eliminate socioeconomic disparities leading to national integration.
