LANDI KOTAL: Two khasadars were injured in a bomb blast near a checkpost here on Sunday.

Officials said an explosive device fitted to a tree near Satara Meel checkpost situated on the main Peshawar-Torkham highway exploded at around midday, injuring two khasadars — Quaid-i-Azam and Muntazir Khan — who were sitting under the tree.

They said the injured khasadars were immediately shifted to a local hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Security forces also conducted a search operation in the nearby localities.

The officials said they took into custody five khasadars for questioning who were also present at the checkpost.

Local residents said they heard a huge explosion which also smashed windowpanes of some houses situated near the checkpost.
