HYDERABAD, Aug 18: District Nazim Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has sought the help of Sindh information department to create a sense of civic duties among citizens to restore the civic facilities in the city.

He was talking to the adviser to Sindh chief minister for information, Salahuddin Hyder, at the circuit house the other day.

The Nazim said most of the sewerage lines and open drains were choked due to dumping of waste material in these lines by the people which posed health hazard.

He said the district government was ready to provide all facilities to the information department in educating the people about civic awareness in the district which would also reduce the bill of water and sanitation.

The adviser attended a meeting of information officers at the regional information office.

Speaking on the occasion, he said reforms were being carried out in the information department to meet the needs of modern time.

He said the government had allocated Rs9.2 million to procure latest equipment to meet professional needs of the department.

He said it was for the first time that crises management cells were established at the head office and all regional offices to issue timely information about the rain disaster in Sindh.
