JS Global Capital Limited's Faran Rizvi was honoured as Pakistan's best equity trader for 2017 in the 14th Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Excellence Awards.

CEO of Insight Securities and veteran trader Zubair Ghulam Hussain received the runner-up award in the equity trade category.

CFA Society Pakistan picked 500 star performers from over 100 brokerage firms to honour during the awards, said a press release.

Equity Trading is considered one of the toughest and most demanding professions in the financial industry.

“Becoming emotionless and methodical while executing trades worth billions of rupees is what separates top trader from mediocre. The industry has a lot of room to grow from here as a lot of investors lose their investments because of unqualified traders," said Rizvi. "I suggest CFA Association to conduct workshops for the professional training of traders and raise the industry standards."
