The Balochistan FC has increased intelligence-based operations (IBO) throughout the province in the past four days "on confirm[ed] intelligence", Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army's media wing, said on Saturday.

"Over the past week, IBOs were carried out under Operation Raddul Fasaad in different areas of Quetta, Kleri Dhal, Dera Bugti, Dashat areas of Balochistan," the ISPR said.

The security forces through these operations foiled at least one major act of terrorism in Balochistan, according to the ISPR.

“Various suspects were apprehended during these operations … [while] a large cache of arms and ammunition — including explosives, IEDs, grenades, rockets, detonators and communication equipment — were also recovered from the terrorists' hideouts.”

On June 4, 12 “hardcore terrorists” were killed in a gun battle during an IBO carried out by security forces, including the Balochistan FC, in the Splinji area of Mastung district.

The militants had taken refuge inside a cave for planning, coordination and execution of terrorist activities in Balochistan, the army had said.

The target of the IBO were hideouts of the militants of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in the Sken Nullah Darango area, 55km southeast of Kahan, ISPR had said at the time.
