ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: Federal education minister Zubeda Jalal has been invited by Unesco to represent the Asian Group at a meeting on “Education For All” (EFA) being held in Paris later this month.

The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) director-general, Koichiro Matstuura, has lauded the contribution of the federal education minister for advancement of the goal of education for all in Pakistan.

The Unesco official also appreciated her work regarding educational cause and presentations at different international meetings on education in general and EFA in particular.

She has been selected to represent the region at the meeting, which will discuss technical and financial resource mobilization of the global community for commitment made on the EFA during the World Forum on education for all in Dakaar.

Almost 300 schools in Pakistan have been affiliated with Unesco which will improve the human rights situation, peace and education in the country.
