KARACHI: After the downpour in the city for two days, the weather conditions stabilised a bit on Wednesday as no rain was reported from any area, yet a few neighbourhoods remained without electricity.

K-Electric claimed that there were isolated incidents due to fallen trees and broken wires during the storm and not due to any feeders tripping.

The Met Office has meanwhile forecast light drizzle in the city for Thursday (today) with temperature varying between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, the minimum and maximum temperatures in the city were recorded between 24 and 32.5 degrees Celsius.

An official of the Meteorological department told Dawn that the maximum amount of rain in the city was recorded on Sharea Faisal (33mm) late Tuesday night. Landhi received 24.5mm of rainfall, Karachi University (26.2mm), Masroor Base (22mm), Saddar (21mm), North Karachi (15.6) and Nazimabad (10mm).

While there were reports of outages from different parts of the city, the KE said that all the 250 feeders were online as were the grids on Wednesday. “Even the one DHA grid, which had developed a technical fault earlier, was restored and power supply was normalised,” said a KE spokesperson while speaking to Dawn.
