HYDERABAD, Aug 16: Badin District Nazim Kamal Khan Chang has said relief goods are not being distributed in a proper way and goods sent to union and taluka council Nazims for the rain victims are not sufficient.

Talking to this correspondent by telephone from Karachi on Friday night, he said he opposed the district relief committee as it had representation only from the Badin city and people from Talhar, Thatta and Matli areas were also included in it.

When asked why he boycotted the relief committee meeting, the Nazim said the DCO of Badin did not give him true figurers of the relief operation. He maintained that relief goods were provided after six days the same were demanded.

About relief committee chairman Ali Bux Shah’s proposal to him for working jointly, the Nazim said Mr Shah was a member of the Sindh Assembly so he should represent the district at the provincial level.

PPP MNA: People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Dr Fahmida Mirza has lashed out at the Badin district relief committee for slow pace of relief work and small quantity of relief goods.

Talking to this correspondent on telephone, she demanded a Rs5 billion package to rehabilitate the affected people.

She accused the Sindh government of interfering in affairs of the district government.

She said rain victims were approaching her but the government was keeping elected people of the area out of the relief operation.

The MNA said Badin, Tando Bago and Golarchi talukas were not sent sufficient quantity of relief goods given the scale of damage caused by the recent torrential rains.

She said Badin should be given royalty of oil and gas explored in the district.

She also called for writing off agricultural and other loans.

EXAM DATE: The university of Sindh has extended the final date for submission of forms for annual examination 2003.

Regular and external candidates of BA, B Sc, B Com, BSW, B Sc (home economics) pass part-I and part-II and MA previous and MA final have been advised to deposit their examination fee till Aug 30 only through bank voucher.

No extension will be granted for submission and depositing of the examination fee.

ADMISSIONS: The university of Sindh has notified the schedule for admissions in M Sc criminology for the academic session of 2003-04.

Interested candidates have been advised to obtain admission forms from the designated bank branches on the payment of prescribed form fee and submit the same personally at the directorate of admissions, university of Sindh, Jamshoro upto Sept 10, 2003.
