SARGODHA, Aug 15: PML-Q’s Chaudhry Hamid Saleem Warraich will face no more resistance in becoming Sargodha’s Naib Nazim, as his only rival on Thursday agreed to withdraw his candidature.

It is believed that the PML-Q bigwigs have played a vital role in ensuring unopposed victory of their man.

At a ceremony arranged at the residence of MNA Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema, Rao Abdus Sami, the only contestant in the run against Mr Warraich, announced that he would withdraw his candidature for the elections.

He told Dawn on Friday that Mr Warraich had been spoiling his campaign with the help of the PML-Q. He said he had signed the withdrawal and would submit it with the returning officer on Aug 20. On the other hand, Mr Warraich said he was thankful to all the people who had supported him in his race for the Naib Nazim’s slot.
