Two injured in Afghan shelling

MOHMAND AGENCY, Aug 15: Afghan troops fired mortar shells on Pakistani observatory posts in the Mohmand region on Thursday night, wounding two civilians, including a woman, witnesses said.

Sources said Afghan militia targeted Pakistani posts with rockets and mortar shells in Sam Ghakhi, Kodakhel and Faqirabad areas near the border. The shelling started at around 11pm and lasted an hour.

They said Afghan forces fired at least 60 mortar shells in Kodakhel area. A shell fell on a mud house, injuring Khan Mohammad and his mother.
