HYDERABAD: Political, social and professional organisations and government departments staged walks, rallies and organised different programmes across the province on Sunday to mark the 70th Independence Day celebrations of the country.

In Hyderabad, Jamshoro police and Rangers organised a flag march from Kotri to Sann town to mark the Independence Day.

SUKKUR: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional organised a programme where leaders delivered speeches and singers sung national songs.

Members of Christian community and Bacha (children) Union took out rallies and Tanzeem Fikr-o-Nazar and Rohri municipal committee organised programmes.

In Jacobabad, Ittehad Ahle Sunnat, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Thaheem Foundation brought out rallies, which terminated outside the press club.

Similar rallies and programmes were held in other towns of upper Sindh.

MITHI: Radio Pakistan Mithi organised a function to mark the Independence Day at Mithi Press Club where local singers sang folk songs to the delight of audience.

MIRPURKHAS: Many public and private educational institutions, government departments and political and social organisations have planned programmes to celebrate the Independence Day with traditional fervor.
