QUETTA: The Balochistan government has launched the Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) working group to gauge progress on birth control in the province.

During a meeting, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Raheela Hameed Durrani said that the government was committed to improve maternal and child health indicators in the province.

The secretary of the population welfare department, Noorul Haq Baloch, presented the provincial government’s commitments for achieving FP2020 goals and highlighted opportunities to accelerate family planning efforts in the region.

He thanked Ms Durrani for chairing the working group and also appreciated efforts of the United Nations Population Fund and the provincial Population Council towards formation of the FP2020 working group.
