QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) president Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal said on Friday that all institutions should work within their constitutional limits and refrain from interfering in the affairs of other organs of the state, otherwise there would be a chaotic situation in the country.

He was speaking at a function at which a former provincial president of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Nawabzada Aurangzeb Jogezai, joined the BNP-M.

He accused the provincial government of hurling threats at BNP-M workers and supporters for their opposition to its policies and said the BNP-M and its leadership would not compromise on its principled stand on issues pertaining to the rights of people.

Mr Mengal said his party would not abandon its struggle because of the threats of the government to its workers and activists.

Referring to the Baloch-Pashtun relations in the province, he said both were tied in centuries-old bonds of brotherhood and these relations had strengthened in recent days.

“It is not possible for the opportunists to harm those brotherly relations through slogan mongering,” he said, adding that those out to disturb the brotherly relations would never succeed.

Sardar Mengal said that the BNP was a party of those who had sacrificed their life for the betterment of people, adding it had emerged as a powerful political force capable of defending the rights of people.

Nawabzada Jogezai underlined the need for a joint struggle for Baloch-Pashtun unity and pledged that he would work for positive politics in the province.

Mr Jogezai expressed his confidence in the leadership of Sardar Mengal.
