TIMERGARA: Overage doctors, who were appointed by the government in different hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa some months ago, on Sunday demanded immediate issuance of a notification, relaxing their age limit so they could receive their pending salaries.

They made the demand at a meeting of their association held here chaired by president Dr Sherin Yousafzai.

Besides Dr Yousafzai, the association’s general secretary Dr Jan Wali, Dr Mohammad Safeer and others spoke on the occasion.

They said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had recruited 38 overage doctors as medical officers at different hospitals seven months ago on ad hoc basis.

They said their services were later on regularised, but had not been paid salaries for last seven months, pending issuance of notification about their age relaxation.

The participants thanked the provincial government for recruiting overage doctors and demanded of the chief minister to issue directives to the relevant authorities to immediately do the needful.

JUI-F MEETING: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan has claimed that ulema, seminaries and mosques are being targeted by rulers merely to appease their western masters.

He was addressing a meeting of the JUI-F office-bearers from eight union councils of Adenzai tehsil at Chakdara on Sunday.

The event was aimed to overview party affairs in the area and prepare workers for the next general elections. Gul Naseeb is expected to contest the next election from NA-34 seat in Lower Dir.

“Politics has become a business in Pakistan which should be discouraged,” he said, adding the nation should be made aware of the fact that only honest politicians could serve them well. He said provision of justice and restoration of human dignity could only be ensured by enforcing Sharia law.

He said PTI had failed to bring its promised change to the lives of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PML-N DEMAND: The Pakistan Muslim League-N, Lower Dir chapter, on Sunday demanded setting up a full bench of the Supreme Court for reviewing its judgment disqualifying Nawaz Sharief as prime minister.

The demand was made during a meeting chaired by Syed Jan Alam Jan. The party workers from different areas of the district attended the meeting.

The participants expressed full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. Through a unanimously passed resolution, they demanded of the Supreme Court to review its decision against the former premier.
