LAHORE, Jan 4: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Zarrar Azim on Friday visited the field formations deployed at various defensive operational locations and reviewed the troops’ state of preparedness to fight any eventuality, a press release stated.

Talking to the troops, Mr Azim said Pakistan was a peace loving country, however, her armed forces were capable of giving a befitting response to any aggression of the enemy. He urged the troops to be cognizant of their professional duties and to muster up courage in the hour of trial.

Operational preparedness at the moment should precede any other thing, he said, urging the jawans to honour integrity of the motherland supreme.

The commander was all praise for Lahorites who, according to him, were custodian of the Hilal-i-Istaqlal.

Earlier, Mr Azim was briefed on the deployment and readiness of the troops.
