PESHAWAR: Tahir Khan clinched the Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police Badminton Championship trophy at the Wadood Indoor Hall of the Peshawar Sports Complex on Friday.

In the men’s singles final, Tahir defeated Haroon Khan 21-17, 19-21 and 21-18.

Urooj Khan, a former KP No. 1, recorded victory against Fatima of Sarhad University 21-23, 21-19 and 23-21 in the ladies singles final.

In the men’s doubles, Tahir and Masood of KP Police recorded victory against Haroon and Zohaib in straight sets. The score was 21-18, 21-17.

In the juniors’ final, Hammad Khan beat Aziz Khan by 21-19 and 21-15.

KP Sports director general Junaid Khan announced Rs10,000 cash awards each for the winners and Rs5,000 for the runners-up.
