Indian security forces on Tuesday claimed to have killed a suspected Lashkar-i-Taiba (LeT) commander who has reportedly been identified as Abu Dujana.

The announcement was made through a tweet by Indian police, which read that Dujana was killed along with an "accomplice" in the Hakripora village of Pulwama district. The police hailed it as a "huge achievement for police and SF (security forces)".

"Charred bodies of two youth were recovered from the debris of two residential houses destroyed by the [Indian] troops while using chemical substance during a crackdown operation in Hakripora area of the Srinagar district," Kashmir Media Service reported.

Moreover, according to Hindustan Times, a "cordon and search operation" carried out in a residential building was still underway.

The newspaper further reported that Dujana was suspected of visiting the place to meet a woman whom he had allegedly married.

The police have not confirmed any such report so far, the newspaper said.

One more youth was killed and dozens were injured after Indian forces’ personnel fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on protesters in Kakapora, Newa and Hakripora areas in the district, read Kashmir Media Service report.
