KARACHI: Rakhsha Bandhan observed

Published August 13, 2003

KARACHI, Aug 12: The Hindu community in the city, like everywhere else in the world, celebrated the annual festival of Rakhsha Bandhan on Tuesday.

During Rakhsha Bandhan, sisters, fasting since morning, tie Rakhi (made of thread) on the wrists of their brothers who vow to reinforce their relationship.

Married sisters visit their brothers’ homes that wear festive looks as their families are expecting that they will come to tie the Rakhi during the day. Thus the occasion becomes a great family get-together.
