PESHAWAR: The city police on Sunday arrested a technician of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on charges of assaulting a female patient while conducting a test on her.

A police official at the Khan Raziq police station told Dawn that they had arrested the CT scan technician accused by the patient’s family of harassing and assaulting her.

The official said that the female patient had come to the health facility from Batkhela and while she was undergoing CT scan, the accused tried to grope her.

He said that the woman made a hue and cry after which her family members entered the room to rescue her.

The official said that the police had registered a case under section 354 and 509 of the Pakistan Panel Code and arrested the accused.
